Debi Atkins

After a dual career in Marketing and as a Registered Nurse, I retired a few years ago.  Now everyday is a Saturday!

I love golfing and am fortunate to have a fun group of friends that do not take golf (or life) too seriously.

At home, I'm usually busy writing posts for my blog, A Beautiful Second Act.

My husband Gary and I enjoy spending time outdoors whether on a golf course, exploring our favorite vacation spot in the mountains, or sitting on our deck surrounded by a forest. Since we spend a lot of time outdoors, we certainly appreciate having our ORORO jackets and vests!

Also, we adore when our grand dog (Molly, the Goldendoodle) and her mom (Kelly, our traveling RN) come to visit.

Reason to join the ORORO Squad

My daughter had an ORORO heated jacket and I loved it as I'm quite cold natured.  Now I have one also, and my husband has the heated vest.  The jacket is perfect for when I golf (love it!) and just spending time outdoors.  We often spend evenings sitting by the fire pit on our deck.  I'm retired, so I love spending as much time as possible outdoors.

What’s your favorite thing about ORORO?

The style and comfort as well as the heat aspect are.perfect for anyone.  The more you wear one, the more you find reasons to wear it more often.

What are the best 3 words to describe yourself?

Naturelover-  I love being outdoors any chance I get whether it’s to golf, walk, play with our grand dog Molly, read, or just soak up Nature's beauty

Adventurous-  Trying out new things can often be scary, but I love the feeling of knowing that at least I tried something new.  Whether the outcome is perfect or not, I always learn something.  And learning every day is a great way to stay young at heart.

Creative- Whether it's fashion or decorating, I love taking something simple and elevating it into a beautiful design or decor.  Sewing, writing poetry, and cooking are a few of my other favorite ways to be creative.

Please share a short story about an important challenge that you've overcome (in your life, hobby, or profession

I decided to return to Nursing (after a Marketing career for 15 years).  Doing so required taking a new job in a different town, meeting all new people, learning an entirely new Nursing skill- and all while raising a young child.

Overcoming those challenges all at once taught me that I could truly accomplish ANYthing I set my mind to.
