What are the best 3 words to describe yourself?
The best 3 words to describe me are Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
These three words are the core values in which I’ve built my life. As a military combat veteran who’s now a Division I Football Coach, these words have pushed me in ways I couldn’t imagine. Honor helps me do what’s right. Courage helps me to step up and take action when action is absent and needed. Commitment helps me stay loyal to the things and people whom I hold dear.
Please share a short story about an important challenge that you've overcome (in your life, hobby, or profession)
Wow, I’m not sure there are enough characters to share a story, but my life like many people started at the bottom.
Born in Chicago, not super talented, lazy, my family had zero connections. My parents were hard working and I was an underachiever in school. That laziness earned me the choice of joining the world’s greatest Navy right after 9/11. That four year experience changed my life. I met people from all over the world that taught me about work ethic and how to make my dreams come true. After four years and an honorable discharge, I went on to school to be a All-American & National Champion Sprinter, earned a bachelor’s & master’s degree from Illinois State & Kent State. I went on to become a college football coach and have coached with some of the best football minds in the world. You can do anything you want to do if you are willing to work and sacrifice.
